The Reggiana Basketball is experiencing a moment of corporate reorganization and from this perspective the minority shareholder Graziano Sassi has reduced its shares from 16 to 3 percent. A ‘move’ that can be interpreted in many ways, but which can technically streamline (from the point of view of formal practices) even a possible transfer of the majority package by the Bartoli family. President Veronica and her father Enzo now hold 97%, but seem increasingly intent on finding new buyers to whom they can pass the baton by June 2027.

Contacted on the matter, Sassi does not want to go into details, but is keen to send a message to the entire basketball community in our country: “I confirm that I have reduced the fees, but I still remain at the side of Pallacanestro Reggiana also as a reference for the many friends and sponsors that I have involved in recent years – explains the Scandian entrepreneur – I entered basketball to help out, but then I fell in love with this beautiful sport and above all with all the beautiful, social and charitable initiatives that revolve around it”.

In addition to being a reference for many fans, Graziano Sassi reiterated his commitment, also confirming an important multi-year sponsorship: “I have guaranteed a three-year commitment as a sponsor – he explains – and I do so with great pleasure, because I believe that Pallacanestro Reggiana is an asset for the whole city and the province of Reggio Emilia, but not only because I have friends who also come from Modena to see it. The Bartoli family must be thanked for what they have done and are doing and an immense thank you must also be addressed to the sponsors who give a big hand. Let’s not forget the contribution of the vice president Enrico San Pietro, a great manager and connoisseur of basketball with whom a beautiful friendship was born.”

The minority shareholder then prefers to gloss over some issues that have ‘shocked’ public opinion in recent months, including the renunciation of the construction of ‘Casa Biancorossa’, a project in which Sassi himself believed very much: “It is a very delicate issue, with many aspects to consider and which I would prefer not to talk about” he points out. Then he is keen to underline that: “I’m not going anywhere anyway, I like basketball and if there is a need to lend a hand in the future too, the Reggio Emilia community, for what I will obviously be able to do, can absolutely count on me. Now – he concludes – the priority is to save the category and all be united for the common good, then there will be time for all the other considerations.”
