Zutphen – Saturday, January 10, there was a party again in Cinemajestic, where the second edition of the ‘Enjoyable film and benefit morning’ was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ‘G’ football department of football association AZC, together with the broad ‘supporters’ of the team, including parents, caregivers, guidance bodies and the mayor, were present at this special event, sponsored by Cinemajestic.
The football players of the ‘G’ youth and seniors enjoyed the film Zootropolis 2 with a drink and treats, while the broader group of supporters took part in the benefit program ‘GIVE TO ‘G’ in the atmospheric foyer of Cinemajestic. This program marked an important step in AZC’s ambition to place the ‘G’ in a broader social context. The first entrepreneur who wants to contribute his company to the ‘G’ based on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) was proudly welcomed.
The event was a great success. 1,250 euros were raised from the Reinier van der Kwast BVO tournament, 2,750 euros from the Zwaluwen Youth Campaign, and various donations from parents, sponsors and stakeholders.
The donations made it extra festive for all players. All seniors now play in new uniforms, made possible by contributions from the Reinier van der Kwast BVO tournament, and all youth players went home with new training suits, thanks to donations from the Zwaluwen Youth Campaign.
This year, many attendees also signed up for mini tasks, such as accompanying a group of ‘G’ players to an away match. These mini-tasks (max. 4 hours) make it possible to give the ‘G’ a full place within the community. Every registration gave a chance to win great prizes during the lottery, which took place at the end of the benefit.
Around 12:00, after the film, all the players struck and introduced themselves to those present in the foyer. The mayor completed the party with an inspiring speech about the social opportunities for ‘G’ football, put volunteers in the spotlight and led the lottery. Many new volunteers and players went home with great prizes, which they had won by registering for mini-tasks on the ‘G’rote mini-task board.
In short, a very successful benefit with all the ingredients to further develop AZC-G football socially and give it the mature place it deserves in Zutphen.
