The Club de Tiro con Arco Puertollano secured five podium finishes at the 9th Trofeo de Tiro con Arco “Ciudad de Andújar,” held on September 20, 2026, at the Complejo Polideportivo Municipal “Sebastián G.ª Laguna” in Andújar, Jaén, according to local reports.
Organized by the C.D. Arqueros de Andújar, the outdoor competition served as the fourth leg of the 2026 XV Liga Inter Clubes. The tournament drew archers across multiple divisions and categories, giving competitors a chance to accrue crucial points for the circuit’s general standings.
Category Victories and Standout Debuts
The Puertollano delegation posted a strong overall balance, capturing five podium spots across recurve and traditional longbow divisions. In the Benjamín Recurvo Masculino category, Sergio Mendoza captured first place in his official competitive debut. Regional reporting noted that the young archer handled his first official tournament with composure and focus.
In the Benjamín Recurvo Femenino division, club teammate Vega Nieto claimed second place. The result added another podium finish to her ongoing sports development, continuing a consistent run of form in inter-club and regional fixtures.
Infant Recurvo and Longbow Divisions
Jara Nieto secured the top step of the podium in the Infantil Recurvo Femenino category. Having competed in national-level events earlier in the season, her victory in Andújar underscored her competitive consistency.
In the traditional longbow events, Agustina Talavera Nieto finished third in Senior Longbow Femenino. Talavera Nieto holds a recognized competitive record in traditional archery, including a Castilla-La Mancha longbow title alongside numerous regional podium finishes. In the Veterano Masculino longbow division, José Antonio Izquierdo also earned a third-place finish for the Puertollano club.
