Two days after finalizing his transfer, Kenneth Taylor has already made his debut for Lazio. The ex-Ajax player was even in the starting line-up and participated in almost the entire Serie A match. Lazio narrowly won at Hellas Verona: 0-1.
“I have never put a player in the starting line-up after one training,” said coach Maurizio Sarri. “So that illustrates our emergency. I want to build something, but it always feels like we have to start all over again.”
Taylor was signed by Lazio as a replacement for Mattéo Guendouzi, who moved to Fenerbahçe. Coach Sarri had opposed the sale of the Frenchman to the club management and complained about the transfer policy.
In Verona, Taylor took over Guendouzi’s place in midfield. He played a solid match and was taken off in the 90th minute.
Tijjani Noslin (ex-Fortuna Sittard) was allowed to make way in the 55th minute after two missed chances. The winning goal was an own goal by Dane Victor Nelsson in the 79th minute.
Long helps Napoli, red coach Conte
Leader Internazionale and national champion Napoli drew on Sunday evening after an infectious football fight (2-2).
Without the still injured Denzel Dumfries, who was in the stands at PSV-Excelsior (5-1) on Saturday evening in Eindhoven, Internazionale took the lead after nine minutes thanks to a goal from Federico Dimarco.
Napoli, with Sam Beukema in the starting line-up and Noa Lang on the bench, made it 1-1 at the other end in a somewhat identical manner thanks to a tap-in from Scott McTominay on a pass from Eljif Elmas.
In the seventieth minute, Napoli coach Antonio Conte became furious after Inter had been awarded a penalty. The coach reacted so angrily that he was given a red card. Hakan Calhanoglu didn’t care and didn’t fail from eleven meters.
Napoli did not give up and, thanks to substitute Lang, came alongside again in the 81st minute. The attacker kept the ball in play with an effort and served McTominay, who then scored flawlessly.
Stuffy draw Milan
AC Milan narrowly averted their first defeat in eighteen matches. Fiorentina made up for a deficit at the last minute: 1-1.
Pietro Comuzzo opened the scoring in Florence for Fiorentina. Milan only accelerated in the last fifteen minutes and Christopher Nkunku scored the 1-1 score in the 90th minute, after which Marco Brescianini shot onto the crossbar on behalf of Fiorentina.
