[TV리포트=이혜미 기자] Top model Gisele Bündchen remarried jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, and Bündchen’s family publicly expressed their concerns, calling it a ‘mistake’.
On the 10th (local time), Page Six reported, “Bündchen’s family is feeling anxious that Bundchen is playing without a sufficient ‘defense strategy.’”
“Bündchen’s family warned her that it would be a mistake for a man worth millions to marry a penniless man,” a source said. Valente is a jiu-jitsu instructor for celebrities and runs his own academy in Miami, but Bündchen is on a different level in terms of wealth and fame.
Bündchen is a superstar in the modeling world, with a fortune estimated by Celebrity Net Worth to be $400 million (KRW 583 billion).
The source said, “Bündchen’s family encouraged him to live together, but due to pressure from Valente and Bundchen’s tendency to pursue traditionalism, they concluded that it was better to get married now that they had a child.” According to Page Six, Bündchen and Valente held their son in their arms in February of last year and quietly tied the knot in November.
They signed a prenuptial agreement before getting married, but the source said that this was not the perfect protection the family wanted. An official added, “There are some loopholes in the prenuptial agreement, so if the two divorce, the division of property will go to Valente.”
Bündchen is the third of six sisters, and this large family is known to boast a particularly close bond. In an interview with People magazine in 2023, Bündchen expressed her special love for family, saying, “Family is everything to me, and although my sisters sometimes disagree, they are my best friends.”
Meanwhile, she married NFL superstar Tom Brady in 2009 and had one son and one daughter, but divorced in 2022.
