He is accused of carrying a weapon in Lakewood, Ohio
Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore was arrested Wednesday in a Cleveland suburb on a possible concealed weapon charge, according to police records.
Marshon Lattimore was arrested following a traffic stop in Lakewood, Ohio, at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday, according to police. He was booked into jail, but later released. The case remains under investigation.
The police report, which includes a Glock 9mm handgun as evidence, mentions a second possible charge of improper handling of firearms in a vehicle.
In a statement, the Commanders stated: “We have been informed of the arrest and are gathering more information. We have informed the NFL office and have no further comment at this time.”
He was also arrested in March 2021 in Cleveland and was initially charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm. The felony charge was later dismissed, but Lattimore pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon, a misdemeanor. He received one year of probation and a suspended 180-day jail sentence.
Marshon Lattimore played the last season and a half with the Commanders, who acquired him in a trade with the New Orleans Saints last season. He only played five games for Washington, including the playoffs, due to a hamstring injury.
Lattimore tore his ACL on Nov. 3 and missed the rest of the season. Washington could save $18.5 million by terminating Lattimore’s contract.
New Orleans selected Lattimore, 29, in the first round of the 2017 draft. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection with the Saints.
