Dudaš was found dead at his residence yesterday. The police was called by a relative of the athlete who expressed concern about his health. Law enforcement officers, breaking into the apartment, found Dudaš without signs of life.
Budapest police say that no signs of violence or crime have been found. “The case will be investigated as part of the administrative process, involving experts,” said the police representative.
In his youth, Dudás was considered one of Hungary’s greatest sports talents. In 2009, he won two gold medals at the World Junior Championships and was recognized as Hungary’s best young athlete.
At the 2012 London Olympic Games, he took sixth place in the 200 meters. A year later, at the European Championship, Dudaš won silver in the 500-meter distance, and in 2014, in Moscow, as part of the Hungarian national team, he became the world champion in the 4×200-meter relay.
In 2015, he tested positive for banned substances, but in 2016, before the Rio Olympics, he was suspended for three years due to suspicious fluctuations in testosterone levels.
After the disqualification, Dudaš returned to the competition and was also part of the Hungarian national team, but in January 2021 he announced the end of his professional career.
The problems did not end there. In 2017, during his suspension, he was found guilty of assaulting a middle-aged woman at an entertainment venue. Dudaš himself claimed at the time that he had acted in self-defense. Not long before that, he and his girlfriend at the time had been caught shoplifting.
In October 2025, the athlete again came under the police’s eye – the process for disturbing the public order was started. His private life was also regularly in the spotlight of the yellow press – it was reported about infidelity and complicated relations with his wife and mother of two children, Iveta Sigligeti.
