Eintracht Frankfurt: Scouting German Football’s Rising Star

Eintracht Frankfurt wants to continue its shopping spree this winter and has now set its sights on Luca Erlein. As ‘Bild’ reports, the Hessians are working on signing the 18-year-old. The German U19 international’s contract with TSG Hoffenheim expires at the end of the season.

Erlein can be used both as a central defender and as a right-back and is placed in the Kraichgauer’s second representation in the third division. After Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab (21), the right-footed player could be TSG’s second top talent to be poached by Eintracht this winter. The contract situation is similar: Amaimouni-Echghouyab’s contract with Hoffenheim would also have expired in the summer, so it was available for less than its actual market value.

In addition to the defensive player, the two central midfielders Sean Steur (17) and Cajetan Lenz (19) are also still in the focus of the current seventh-place team in the Bundesliga. According to reports, the latter has now been given a price tag of ten to 15 million euros by his current club VfL Bochum. In contrast to Erlein, the two midfield talents are primarily considered options for the summer.

Upheaval in midfield

Eintracht will have to be prepared for a major personnel change in the central midfield next summer anyway. Hugo Larsson has long been considered a hot candidate for departure and could bring in a hefty transfer fee. In addition to the Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, numerous top European clubs are associated with the Swede. According to the tabloid, Mo Dahoud (30) and Ellyes Skhiri (30) could also leave the club in the summer.
