(MINNEAPOLIS, from our reporter) In their last group match of the WCJ 2026, the Slovaks were just not enough against the Swiss. In group A, they end up in fourth place and in the quarter-finals they will face the winner of group B. This could be Canada or Finland.
They were able to torment both the Swedes and the Germans, but they managed to win only against the weakest Germans. The Slovaks advance to the MSJ from the group, but only from fourth place. The winner of group B – Canada or Finland – is waiting for them.
In the match against Switzerland, our eastern neighbors did not go well, especially in the first period, after which they lost 0:2. And when Kevin Haas made it 0:3 in the 37th minute, things looked very bleak with the Slovaks. In the third period, they dramatized the proceedings with Nemec and Radivojevic’s hits, but they did not score any points.
