The Sacramento Kings and Germany’s basketball star Dennis Schröder have suffered the next setback in the NBA. The world and European champions lost against the Boston Celtics 106:120 (61:62) and are 14th in the table. in the Western Conference far away from the playoff places. Only the Indiana Pacers (6 wins) have had less success in North America this season than the Kings (8).
Schröder came off the bench but was able to make a few points. The 32-year-old from Braunschweig hit three shots from beyond the three-point line. The captain of the German national team also knew how to please from close range. Seven out of twelve attempts were successful.
Sacramento remained on par with the NBA record champions from Boston for a long time. But as has often been the case this season, a small phase of weakness by Schröder’s team in the final half decided the outcome. Within three minutes, the Celtics went from 104:100 to 114:102 and couldn’t miss the victory.
Only one player scored better for the Kings than Schröder
Schröder scored 18 points and also had six assists in the Kings’ 26th loss. Only DeMar DeRozan (25 points) scored better for Sacramento. Jaylen Brown scored 29 points for playoff candidate Boston.
