Modified Trabant Delivers New Year Wishes | Unique Car Transformation

The iconic Trabant is nicknamed the BMV, or Bakelite Motor Vehicle, a reference to its body with duroplast surface panels. It is interesting that just a few years ago people used to get rid of Trabants for hauling away, while today nice pieces are already valued.

The Czech designer Rostislav Prokop was probably filled with nostalgia this year, which is why he chose this East German miracle for his virtual New Year’s Eve, only “slightly” modifying its facade.

This is the classic Trabant 601 as we all remember it.

The two-tone painted car is completely lowered, equipped with side skirts and a front splitter. The Ford Mustang-style radiator grille is complemented by LED lights, among which you’ll find a hood with a cut-out hole that hides an unspecified powerful American engine.

The extended roof with wing is also reduced, there are modern rear-view mirrors, widened fenders and white alloy wheels with a collar.

The back is an even bigger wilderness than the front. The body of the pick-up type is reinforced with an auxiliary frame, the rear fenders are carried by aerodynamic wings, the body is decorated with an extended spoiler, and the bumper is decorated with a diffuser with a central dual exhaust tailpipe.

Modern vertical diode lamps refer to the original by their design, the whole vehicle with loaded gifts on the bed looks very surreal.

Hopefully, the year 2026 will not be in this spirit, but on the contrary, it will be calmer, clearer, less complicated and without unexpected surprises. We wish you that along with your wheels always staying down.
