Puerto Rican basketball player Arnaldo Toro will continue his career in the Hungarian championship team “Falco” of Sombatheja.
It has already been announced that the 28-year-old Toro left “Optibet” Latvian-Estonian League (LIBL) team “VEF Rīga” yesterday. Toro returned to the Latvian championship team before this season, while his contract with the club was valid until the end of 2025.
In 15 LIBL games, Toro averaged 11.1 points, 12.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists, including eight double-doubles. In six games in the FIBA Champions League, he averaged 9.8 points, 13.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists, achieving a double-double in three duels.
Toro’s new team “Falco” with 11 wins in 14 games takes the second place in the overall standings of the Hungarian league, behind only “Szolnoki” – the team that “put a leg” in front of “VEF Riga” in the main tournament of the Champions League. The Somabtheja team also competes in the FIBA European Cup, where it managed to enter the TOP 16 phase.
