Biker.sk 2025: Top 15 Articles – Chladoňová, Sagan & More

The year 2025 passed as quickly as Tadej Pogačar over the hills on the Tour de France. In a few days, a new season will begin full of changes in the professional peloton and full of expectations after many transfers and changes in teams.

Even though we publish posts from various cycling disciplines on our website www.biker.sk, stories from road cycling continue to be the most watched.

We looked at the statistics for the year 2025 and selected the 15 articles that had the most traffic this year.

10. “Stop it! What are you doing?!” How Peter Sagan fixed twisted handlebars on opponents’ wheels and won Paris-Roubaix 2018

“Since my rallies were twisted around every sector of the blocks, I always had to ‘accidentally’ tap the wheel of the last rider. They were really nervous about me. I felt like a moron because I kept apologizing to someone and boasting that I couldn’t even see anymore from fatigue.”

In 2018, Peter Sagan achieved one of the greatest achievements of his career at the Paris-Roubaix monument.

He then became the first cyclist since 1981 to win Paris-Roubaix in the rainbow jersey of the world champion. Previously, only the five-time winner of the Tour de France, the Frenchman Bernard Hinault, managed to do it, although in 2024 Mathieu van der Poel will join the legendary pair.

It was a very important race for Sagan that he wanted to win, not only because it is a legendary race, but also because he finished second in the junior edition as an 18-year-old, so he had a lot of motivation.

9. “I haven’t had my period since 2014. I’ve been destroying my body for too long.” Veronica Ewers is taking a break from professional cycling

The 31-year-old American cyclist says she needs a complete reboot after a decade of damaging her health. “My goal is to come back one day and show the world what I can do in a body that works,” says Veronica Ewers.

“I haven’t had my period since 2014. My bones are weak. My digestive system sucks.”

With these words, 31-year-old American cyclist Veronica Ewers announced that she will stop her career in 2026 and devote herself fully to treatment.

The racer, who spent the last four years with the EF Education-Oatly team, said recent blood tests confirmed almost zero hormone levels.

8. Lidl presented an electric mountain bike with a large battery and a torque of up to 100 Nm

The discount chain Lidl has expanded its offer with an interesting item that you might not expect in a grocery store – the Crivit Peak 709 electric mountain bike with a powerful engine.

Although we don’t normally associate Lidl with selling bicycles, their occasional “middle shelf” deals on tools, cycling clothing and accessories are very popular with customers. And now an electric bicycle is joining them.

The Crivit Peak 709 model appeared directly in stores in France and the Czech Republic at a price of 1,699 euros – the notebookcheck.net portal was the first to draw attention to this interesting fact.

7. This is what the party after the Tour de France would look like according to artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence is increasingly being used in all spheres, and cycling is no exception. Many teams use artificial intelligence to optimize training, nutrition or race track analysis.

Portuguese amateur cyclist Nuno Silva however, it uses artificial intelligence to create funny pictures from the world of cycling.

In this case, he created funny pictures of cyclists celebrating together after the Tour de France.

The party includes Tadej Pogačar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel and even Peter Sagan appeared on the dance floor.

6. Bikes for the 2025 Tour de France, ranked from cheapest to most expensive

Tadej Pogačar’s winning bicycle is also the most expensive, and in the commercial version with a masterful design, it costs almost 16,500 euros. For this price, you would buy up to two bikes from Cube, who had the cheapest bikes at the Tour de France. And you would still have enough left over for gear.

The cheapest bike at the Tour was the Cube Litening Aero C:68X, which was ridden by the racers of the Intermarché-Wanty team. The commercial version costs 7,499 euros, while the mountaineering model Litening Air C:68X is the second cheapest with a price tag of 7,699 euros.

5. These are the best and weirdest artwork by cyclists on Strava

For most cyclists, Strava is where watts, averages, segments and evidence of “it really hurt today” are dealt with.

Rides are saved, analyzed and shared mainly to see performance and numbers. But for some users, the map has a completely different meaning after reaching the destination.

Instead of chasing personal records, they turn it into an artistic canvas. The routes consciously meander through the streets, turn back, go around buildings and compose the ride so that when saved, an image is created.

Dog, cat, elephant, dinosaur, Santa Claus, mythological Poseidon, world map or gigantic penis in Poland. All created exclusively by movement and a great deal of patience.

4. The cycling star from OnlyFans sells not only nude photos, but also a smart integrated cockpit

A German startup called Flite GmbH has come up with a “revolutionary solution” – a fully integrated Flitedeck cockpit that combines handlebars and stem with a built-in display.

This system has the ambition to become the first intelligent cockpit for road bikes. It contains a GPS cycling computer, a front light and an electronic bell, while it can communicate with all the sensors on the bike and display data and maps on a large color display.

Behind this project are Sabrina Fischer and Matthias Huber, while the financing of the development takes place in a very unconventional way – through the OnlyFans platform, where the co-founder of the startup offers “exclusive content”, which in translation means – sells her nude photos.

3. He barely had time to take off his clothes. A legendary moment from the Giro d’Italia when Tom Dumoulin had to relieve himself on the road

At the Giro in 2017, Tom Dumoulin experienced challenging moments. In the pink jersey of the overall leader, he was unexpectedly caught by stomach problems. He had no choice and had to solve this problem as quickly as possible in order to lose the lead of the general classification.

Due to acute stomach problems, he had to defecate right on the road, just a few kilometers before the finish of the stage.

This moment was also captured by television cameras, but they quickly turned the shot away.

2. How the Italian cyclist pushed Viktória Chladoňová to the barriers in the sprint at the European Championships

Viktória Chladoňová showed an excellent performance at the European Road Cycling Championships in France, where she finished just short of the podium in fourth place in the category of women under 23 years of age.

In the final sprint, she was fighting for a medal, but the Italian cyclist Eleonora Ciabocco moved from the middle of the road to the edge, which pushed Chladoňová to the barriers and the Slovak champion could not start the sprint in full.

Viktória Chladoňová was disappointed at the finish, as she finally had to settle for fourth place. A few days ago, she finished ninth in the time trial and won silver medals in both disciplines at the World Championships in Rwanda.

1. “I’m done, I’m done. I’m out like a candle.” Peter Sagan on the most difficult years of his career, overtraining and the moments when he wanted to quit cycling

The most read post of 2025 was Peter Sagan’s recollection of a difficult period in his career when he considered quitting cycling.

During 2014 and 2015, he experienced the most difficult period of his professional life, when he lost the joy of cycling under the influence of training experiments that ignored his natural talent and riding style.

“2014 and 2015 were the two worst years of my career. Before the Tour of California in 2015 I told Lombo [Giovanni Lombardi – manažér Petra Sagana]that I’m done with it and I’m done.”

“I didn’t enjoy it, I was still overtrained,” Sagan recalls the crisis period in an interview for Biker.
