Mariana Bernal made history in Mexican sports, by winning the gold medal in it Archery World Cup held in Nanjing, China.
The 22-year-old shooter won first place in the women’s compound bowin an extraordinary and dramatic final against the number 1 in the worldalso Mexican Maya Becerra.
Both shooters, teammates in the national representative, qualified for the final where they later After shooting eleven arrows each, they equaled 147 points, which forced the winner to be defined in sudden death
Already in the final round, the tie was maintained by making each Mexican shooter a 10 point throws, which forced the application of the second criterion in the tiebreaker rule, where Mariana Bernal was left with the victory by being your arrow closest to the center of the bullseye.
