NBA: Comeback win for Orlando and da Silva
The Orlando Magic with Tristan da Silva set an exclamation mark in the NBA and won after a comeback against the Denver Nuggets. The Sacramento Kings around Dennis Schröder also win.
With European basketball champion Tristan da Silva in good spirits in their own ranks, the Orlando Magic celebrated an impressive comeback victory in the NBA. The team from Florida won its home game against the Denver Nuggets 127:126 despite a 17-point deficit. In doing so, the Magic took revenge for the defeat in Denver a little more than a week earlier.
Da Silva came off the bench to contribute 17 points in the win, his highest score in more than a month. However, the outstanding player at Orlando was Anthony Black with 38 points. The two world champions Franz and Moritz Wagner were still missing due to injuries. On the Nuggets side, Nikola Jokic once again dominated the action, but even his gala performance with 34 points, 21 rebounds and 12 assists wasn’t enough for Denver to win.
Schröder and Kings beat Mavericks
There was also a success to celebrate for Dennis Schröder and the Sacramento Kings. The team from California won at home against the Dallas Mavericks 113:107 and celebrated its eighth win of the season. National team captain Schröder came off the bench as usual and scored ten points and also provided five assists. However, he was overshadowed by, among others, Russell Westbrook and Keon Ellis, who both scored 21 points each.
For the Mavericks, who suffered their fourth defeat in the last five games, Cooper Flagg was the most successful thrower with 23 points. Despite the win, the Kings remain second to last in the Western Conference.
