The Pinto City Council has mourned the death with 82 years of Amelia del Castillo Cobosrecently named Favorite daughter of her city after having founded the Club Atlético de Pinto and becoming the first president in the history of Spanish football on October 15, 1963..
“Days of official mourning will be declared on December 28, 29 and 30, with flags flying at half-mast. By express request of the family, the Christmas programming is maintained,” the Pinteño City Council has indicated from its account on the social network X.
The Plenary Session of the same institution unanimously approved on November 19 to impose the title of Favorite Daughter on Amelia del Castillo for being “a pioneering, brave woman and an example for the entire city.”
The winner attended that ceremony accompanied by family and friends. Among them was the president of Getafe CF, Ángel Torres, as well as colleagues, former Atlético de Pinto players and representatives of all the city’s soccer teams.
