Fuzhou launches labor union’s “Two Festivals” warm-hearted activities
Plans to raise more than 32 million yuan, benefiting 420,000 employees
The reporter learned from the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions that Fuzhou’s employee warmth project’s 2026 New Year’s Day and Spring Festival warmth-sending activities have been launched recently and will last until early March next year. Trade unions at all levels in the city plan to raise more than 32 million yuan in support funds, which are expected to benefit 420,000 employees.
The warm-hearted activities are aimed at key groups such as employees in need, front-line workers in key projects and major projects who stick to their posts during the holidays, model workers, and workers with new employment forms. The activities cover aspects such as visits and condolences, stable employment, cultural benefits to the people, and protection of rights and interests.
In terms of employment promotion, the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions will rely on the “Trade Union Stabilizing Employment and Entrepreneurship Service Supermarket” to carry out the “Leye Fuzhou Trade Union Job Sending” New Year employment promotion activity from January to March next year, and launch 11 employment promotion activities such as the “New Year Set Sail” live broadcast + offline experience integrated job fair, “Skills Empowerment” challenge + quick signing meeting, “Career Future” youth employment empowerment workshop, “Industry Exploration” famous enterprise open day and immersive recruitment. At the same time, some trade union stations are selected in the main urban areas to provide gig economy practitioners with employment services such as career guidance, interview recruitment, and live broadcast guidance.
Cultural activities to benefit the people are rich and colorful. During the Spring Festival, the sports venues of the Fuzhou Workers’ Cultural Palace and the Second Workers’ Cultural Palace will be open for free, providing more than 7,300 venues for badminton, table tennis, billiards, basketball and other venues. The Second Workers’ Cultural Palace will give away 1,000 swimming tickets, which is expected to benefit about 60,000 employees. In addition, a demonstration New Year garden party, a fun sports meeting to welcome the New Year, acapella music charity training and concerts will be carried out to enrich the holiday cultural life of employees.
To send warmth and blessings to workers in the new employment form, the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions will carry out the “Heart-warming Meal” activity, providing free breakfast to outdoor workers through online coupon collection and offline verification; 2,000 free monthly car wash passes during the Spring Festival to online ride-hailing drivers; and 1,000 union version “workplace safety protection packages” tailored for couriers, takeaways, etc. At the same time, we will continue to provide personal accident protection for 25,580 workers in new employment forms, and organize special health examinations for some workers in new employment forms.
The activities will also rely on the Staff Quality Life Aesthetics Center to carry out DIY handicrafts, reading sharing sessions and other public welfare activities; contact and guide social organizations to carry out hundreds of activities, including holding New Year folk garden parties, opening winter vacation care classes, and carrying out traditional Chinese medicine physiotherapy, etc. (Reporter Li Bailei)
