Eduardo Camavinga has decided to invest in his country of origin. While in Angola during the end-of-year holidays, the Real Madrid midfielder announced that he intended to open a football academy as well as a school “in order to give back to my country what it gave me”, he explained to the local press during a visit to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The French international (28 caps, 2 goals) lived in Angola for a few months after his birth on November 10, 2002. Received in the company of his parents by the Secretary of State, Paul Madeira, accompanied by his agent and some close friends, he declared that he would be “very happy” to be able to contribute to the development of Angola.
Visit to an orphanage and land to build on
During his stay there, Eduardo Camavinga had the opportunity to meet the locals. He was able to visit monuments, see certain investments, went to an orphanage, where he donated several Real jerseys flocked with his number 6. He was also able to see the land on which he could build his academy and his school.
On his Instagram account, the 23-year-old shared several photos from his trip, where we see him proudly posing next to the national flag, hand on heart during the country’s anthem, concentrated during one of these many visits or surrounded by children for a pure moment of happiness. “We live in immense privilege, without always realizing it. Enjoy yours this holiday season. Merry Christmas,” wrote Eduardo Camavinga on his social networks.
The former Stade Rennais player also took advantage of this stay to say a word of support to the national team which is currently playing in the African Cup of Nations in Morocco. For their first match, the “Black Antelopes” lost 2-1 against South Africa and will play again this Friday at 1:30 p.m. against Zimbabwe.
