Road accident in Reggio Calabria, yesterday around 8.30pm in Arangea. A 35-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle. The car overturned and then hit a parked car.

The intervention of the local police

The Local Police of Reggio Calabria intervened on site for the usual investigations. The officers immediately noticed some symptoms attributable to the driver’s state of alcohol intoxication.

Blood alcohol level above the legal limit

The woman was subjected to instrumental tests and was found to have a blood alcohol level almost three times higher than the limits permitted by law. The driver’s license was then withdrawn and the vehicle stopped.

Complaint and investigations underway

The thirty-five year old, who did not suffer serious injuries, was reported to the judicial authorities for having caused a car accident while intoxicated.
The case is currently in the preliminary investigation phase. The person under investigation must be considered not guilty until a final sentence is reached.
