Good news for football fans during this contemplative time: The National Football League (NFL) will play two games on Christmas Day. First up are the Washington Commanders and the Dallas Cowboys (7 p.m. CET), followed by the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions (10:30 p.m. CET).
The day is particularly important for the Lions and the German Amon-Ra St. Brown. In Week 17, the highly rated team only has a small chance of qualifying for the play-offs – now the train could finally leave. If they lost to the Vikings, Detroit would have missed the postseason.

NFL: Commanders and Cowboys want a conciliatory conclusion
For the Lions, it’s about nothing less than grasping for the last straw. If they don’t succeed, they would be the second big negative surprise of this regular season after the already eliminated Kansas City Chiefs. The Commanders and the Cowboys, both teams from the second pairing of the day, already have certainty. However, this is not good.
Both teams will definitely miss the NFL playoffs. It’s the second time in a row for the Cowboys. The Commanders stormed to the conference championships last year, but were unable to repeat that performance. Now it’s just a matter of ending the regular season on a positive note for both of them.
