The 24 selections at the start of the 2025 African Cup of Nations will share the 32 million dollars in prize money – around 27.5 million euros – promised by CAF. The Confederation of African Football will pay at least $500,000 to each participant: this sum is the amount granted to the teams which finish the first round in 4th place in their group.
Logically, the bonuses will rise as the selection process lengthens. A team third in its group – but not qualified for the round of 16 – will receive $500,000 at the end of the competition. The eighth finalists will be entitled to a check for $800,000.
7 million for the champion
The million mark will be crossed for the selections which will embark for the Big 8. The quarter-finalists will be credited with prize money of 1.3 million dollars. Nearly double will be awarded to the members of the last four: the two unfortunate semi-finalists will leave with 2.5 million dollars each.
Finally, the two finalists will benefit from the most advantageous bonuses. The African vice-champion will be rewarded with 4 million dollars. The final winner will take home the jackpot of 7 million dollars – or 6.03 million euros – promised by CAF.
On the other hand, the selected selections had already received monetary rewards at the end of their qualification process. During the qualifiers, the first in each group collected $350,000, compared to $250,000 for their runner-up.
