Stating that he was happy in Trabzon, Onana emphasized that the period he spent here was one of the best periods in his career. Stating that he adapted to the claret-blue team in a short time, Onana stated that life in Trabzon also reflected positively on him in terms of his on-field performance.

I really like the city, the weather is great. I live near the sea. Honestly, it is one of the best periods of my life. Everything is great right now in terms of lifestyle. It is really great. What do I do? Sometimes I go to the city, even if it is difficult for me to walk in the city, but most of the time I am at home. I spend time with my friends by the sea. We enjoy life.
