The Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports, Erick Thohir, appreciates the struggle of the silat fighters who maintain the tradition of harvesting gold at every SEA Games. The Minister of Youth and Sports is also determined to ensure that Pencak Silat can be competed again at the Asian Games.
“The performance shown by our pencak silat athletes is extraordinary. They continue the tradition of harvesting medals at every SEA Games. Seeing their consistency, struggle and totality, this is proof that pencak silat deserves to be included in the 21 leading branches. We will continue to encourage and strive for this branch to be competed again at the Asian Games, because this sport has the potential to become our gold barn,” said Minister of Youth and Sports Erick.
