Montreal defeated Edmonton last night after an excellent performance 4:1, and Juraj Slafkovský was announced as the second star of the match after goalkeeper Jakub Dobeš.
The Slovakian forward got two assists in a fight with Connor McDavid and showed how much progress he has made both offensively and defensively.
In the fourth season, Slafkovský becomes one of the team’s leaders, which is also reflected in the decisions of coach Martin St. Louisa. He is already starting to think about including Slafkovský in weakening.
Morning with the NHL is an article in which we regularly address one topic from the best hockey league in the world and provide a short summary of the night’s events.
Ten points in ten games
No matter how well Slafkovski does important small details, and no matter how successful he is in advanced stats, he will not avoid the question as a draft unit:
Where are the points?
He won 10 of them in the last 10 games, his good form started to show in productivity as well. Montreal’s power play is working great at the moment, and it was in this that his two assists against Edmonton came.
For the first goal, he first simply passed to Ivan Demidov, for which he received an assist, and then, as several times this season, he did a no less important job, for which points are not awarded – he blocked the goalkeeper’s view.

The coach trusts him more and more
At 3-0 it looked like the outcome was decided, but Zach Hyman made it 1-3 with eight minutes to go and the following events show how Slafkovski’s importance in the team has grown.
