Fluminense lost to Vasco 2-1, this Thursday (11/12), in the first game of the Copa do Brasil semi-final, at Maracanã. Kevin Serna scored Tricolor’s goal in the classic.

To qualify for the final of the Copa do Brasil, Fluminense needs a victory by two goals difference against Vasco, on Sunday (14/12), at 8:30 pm, at Maracanã. In case of victory by one goal, the finalist will be decided on penalties.

FIRST HALF

In a balanced initial stage, Fluminense was better at the beginning, with space to attack created by the quick exchange of passes and good marking when the opponent’s ball was released. The first chance came in the sixth minute, when Lucho Acosta received a pass from Kevin Serna inside the area and shot wide.

Tricolor’s good moment in the match was rewarded with a goal. In the 21st minute, Renê took a free kick in the area, Thiago Silva headed it in and Kevin Serna shot the goalkeeper’s corner to open the scoring.

Defensively solid, Fluminense withstood the opponent’s attacks well and was again in danger at 43, when Everaldo won high and Lucho Acosta tried to cover the goalkeeper, but the ball went over the crossbar.

SECOND HALF

Shortly after the break, after four minutes, the opponent tied the match. In search of victory, Fluminense once again created chances in the attacking field. At five, Lucho Acosta crossed and Everaldo headed the goalkeeper’s save. At 13, Kevin Serna took advantage of the opponent’s defense and passed it to Keno, who finished over the mark.

After a period without opportunities for either team, Tricolor returned to pressure at the end of the game. At 37, Keno received it from Everaldo on the left and shot the goalkeeper’s defense. Two minutes later, PH Ganso took a corner kick and Martinelli headed it wide. The opponent scored the second goal in the 48th minute.
