Caracas 5x5 Basketball Domination

Caracas was proclaimed champion of men’s and women’s 5×5 basketball at the III National Communal Games 2025in the finals held at the Gimnasio 9 de Octubre in Mérida, where they defeated the quintets from Sucre and Carabobo respectively.

In a match decided in the final seconds, Caracas defeated a fierce Sucre 69-67 thanks to his effectiveness in shooting from the free throw line.

The capital quintet dominated the first half 20-19 supported by 10 points from Ashley Márquez and a triple converted by Nayderling Lovera, but Sucre took the second period 21-20 led by 8 points from Samira Suárez who scored in the last second to tie it at 41 at halftime.

In the third quarter the effectiveness droppedCaracas scored 15 to just 8 from Sucreand in the last quarter the capitals maintained the advantage and settled the match 69-67 from the penalty line with the decisive free throw scored by captain Miranda Martínez.

The capital figures were Miranda Martinez (14 points, 4-4 in free practice) and Arianna Marquez (13 points), while Sucre stood out Samira Suarez (13 points) and Valeria Gonzalez (11 units).

Caracas’ road to the title included lead Group B with a perfect record (3-0) and beat Aragua 66-39 in the semifinals. Third place went to Lara, who beat the Aragüeño quintet 44-39.

For its part, the Caracas men’s team dominated Carabobo forcefully 94-53 (28-5, 19-11, 19-5, 19-11)showing superiority in all rooms.

The most outstanding players of the capital quintet were Adam Graver y Robber Sosaboth with 16 points, followed by Mauro Marimou y Mathias Palacios with 14 points each. For Carabobo, the figure was Diego Betancourt with 8 points.

He third place It was in the hands of Anzoátegui who beat Barinas 54-34.

On your way to gold, Caracas led Group B with three victories and eliminated Barinas 85-32 in the semifinals.
