After the change of coach, Club Brugge is preparing for a strategic winter transfer window. The defense could welcome Ousmane Diao, a young versatile Senegalese.
Since the arrival of Ivan Leko, Dévy Rigaux, sports director, insists on caution. Club Bruges will not be looking for massive reinforcements, but specific profiles capable of quickly integrating into the project. The choice of Diao reflects this approach: strengthening the defense while anticipating the future departure of certain executives.
Despite the need for renewal, no additional attackers are envisaged. The club is keen to protect young offensive talents and offer them playing time. On the other hand, reinforcement on the wings is considered useful. Cole Campbell, currently at Borussia Dortmund, is closely followed for his speed and his ability to energize the game on the flanks.

Defense, a priority
All rearguard positions are doubled, but uncertainty looms. Zaid Romero has already been replaced, Jorne Players remains irregular and Vince Osuji not yet ready to compete with Brandon Mechele and Joel Ordonez. To deploy its three-way defense, Leko needs a reliable and versatile element, capable of imposing itself quickly.
The choice fell on Ousmane Diaocentral defender or right back, 21 years old, under contract with Central Jutland until 2029. Arriving from Portugal for 3 million euros, he scored 10 goals and provided 3 assists in 60 matches. Its value is estimated at 7.5 million euros, but Central Jutland could demand double. European clubs like Concord Frankfurt, Seville or Crystal Palace are also interested. Bruges will follow their next match against Genk with attention.
The winter transfer window therefore promises to be decisive for Club Bruges: strategic reinforcement in defense and the protection of young offensive players could transform the balance of the team.
