Ligue 2: Léautey’s Inspiring Comeback | Football News

Less than four months after his departure from Picardy, Antoine Léautey is back at Amiens SC. A return as surprising as it is valuable for Omar Daf who will be able, from this Friday against Pau, to count on a player whose qualities he knows.

This is called an express round trip. Only three and a half months after packing his bags for Stade de Reims, Antoine Léautey made a comeback at Amiens SC. Arriving at the club in 2022, the 29-year-old winger had spent three full seasons in Picardy, even taking the captain’s armband at the start of the season thanks to the departure of Régis Gurtner. After three matches in August, the former Amiens number 7 (he is today on the shoulders of Hamache) signed up for Stade de Reims, a team aiming to climb to Ligue 1. After a promising start (one goal and two assists in 11 matches), he was injured at the end of October. A forced stop which has since permanently removed him from the Champagne group.

This return is surprising given his contractual situation, but also given that of the club to which he is returning. He joins an extremely reduced squad, on the edge of the precipice in the rankings, with the ambition of being one of those who will raise the bar. This reinforcement will not be too much for Omar Daf who will be able to count on him from Friday for the trip to Pau, the player having trained with the Samarian group this week. Antoine Léautey arrives on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy.
