The Sereias da Vila under-20 team ended the first phase of the Copinha on Wednesday afternoon (10), by drawing 0-0 against Fluminense, Ibrachina Arena. Already classified, the teams faced each other aiming for first place in the group.
With the draw, Meninas da Vila ended with the best campaign in Group E Embaúba, with two wins and a draw. In total, 12 goals were scored and only one conceded.
Now the Sereinhas await the definition of other results to meet their opponents in the quarterfinals.
In a very competitive match, with a large number of physical confrontations, Meninas da Vila created their best opportunities at the end of the first half and at the beginning of the second.
In the first half, the best opportunity created was through two headers from captain Nívea. Gadoti crossed and it went higher than the mark, to test firmly with a deflection from the defense. From the corner kick, she rose again, forcing the goalkeeper to make a good save, in the 35th minute.
The Santos team opened the scoring 10 minutes into the second half, with Evelin Bonifácio taking advantage of a rebound from Cury’s shot, but the referee canceled the Santos goal.
Minutes later, the same Evelin received the ball in the area and finished first, aiming for the goalkeeper’s corner, who managed to make the save.
