The Blues continue their great weekend in Östersund (Sweden), after the victory of the women’s relay and second place for the men, Saturday November 29. The French team, represented by Emilien Jacquelin, Eric Perrot, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and Lou Jeanmonnot won the first mixed relay of the World Cup season on Sunday. It is well ahead of Italy and Norway.
With four podiums and two victories, the French are off to a better start than in 2024, where they also had four podiums, but only won one race. Enough to perfectly launch their preparation for the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games, which will take place from February 6 to 22, 2026 in Italy.
The French, reigning world champions in the discipline, started as favorites. Despite numerous shooting errors, Emilien Jacquelin remained solid on skis, going from eighth at the exit of the shooting range to second when handing over to Eric Perrot. The individual world champion took over, remaining in a group made up of Norway, Italy and the United States.
First individual events Tuesday
On her first shot, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet lost a lot of time, coming out in fourth place, more than thirty seconds behind. Fast on skis and author of a flawless standing shot, the 29-year-old biathlete handed over to Lou Jeanmonnot in the lead, who then only widened the gap on her opponents.
At the start of Sunday afternoon, Camille Bened, who honored her first selection in a relay, and Fabien Claude, who replaced Quentin Fillon-Maillet, who withdrew at the last moment, took third place in the single mixed relay, behind Sweden and Norway.
From Tuesday, the biathletes will take part in the first individual events of the season, still in Sweden, in Östersund.
