After being out of action for the first 14 games of the Los Angeles Lakers season, LeBron James returns to the court against the Utah Jazz
LOS ANGELES — The star of Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James, will make its debut this season against him Utah Jazz on Tuesday night, sources told ESPN, taking the court to begin his season number 23and league record.
James, 40, was sidelined for the first 14 games of the season due to sciatica, a nerve problem that affected his lower back and the right side of his body.
James returned to training with the team on Monday, joining his Lakers teammates for his first 5-on-5 game since Los Angeles’ first-round playoff exit against the Minnesota Timberwolves in April.
This comes after James completed his rehabilitation with the South Bay Lakers of the G League last week, while Los Angeles was on a five-game road trip, and completed two consecutive days of training without experiencing any discomfort or pain.
James, who is already the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, begins the season 50 games behind the great Robert Parishof the Boston Celtics, who leads the all-time games played list; to 508 assists Jason Kiddwho ranks third on the all-time assists list; already 6 triples from the Indiana Pacers sniper, Reggie Millerwhich ranks sixth on the all-time triples list.
