Sixth consecutive defeat for the Sacramento Kings, who confirm themselves as one of the most struggling teams in this NBA by not taking advantage of Victor Wembanyama’s absence at the San Antonio Spurs. The Texans win with a score of 123-110 thanks to the poisonous tooth of De’Aaron Fox, who in the second direct match with his former team finds his first victory in a Spurs jersey. San Antonio had to do without Wemby but managed to redeem the two defeats suffered against the Golden State Warriors by beating the Kings quite easily. Sacramento continues in its very complicated moment as demonstrated by the record with only three victories and eleven defeats which is worth the penultimate place in the Western Conference. The Spurs score the first set thanks to the arrival of the bench at the end of the first quarter, where with a break from 13-3 the Texans find themselves at +15 before Schroder’s triple which sets the score at 36-24.
NBA, Sacramento remains attached to the game but it’s not enough
At the beginning of the second quarter, San Antonio tries to manage the double-digit lead, returns to the lead several times by more than 15 points but the Kings have the merit of not collapsing. With three minutes of good quality at the end of the first half, Sacramento reduced the gap to single figures and went into halftime with the score 67-59 for the Spurs. Texans started strong in the third period and Keldon Johnson’s basket at half-time at 91-72 seemed to direct the match. However, San Antonio’s attack shuts down, the Spurs score only four points in the last five minutes and Sacramento comes back to -10, thus reaching the fourth quarter at 95-85. The seal on the match is put by the former De’Aaron Fox, who first opens the last set with five consecutive points bringing his team back to +15, then scores three more baskets in the final including the triple of the final 123-110. San Antonio thus finds success again and continues to sail in the playoff zone in the Western Conference, while for the Kings it is the middle of the night.
