Vuelta a España: Fire-Ravaged Landscapes & Stunning Finish Line Photos

In this Vuelta 2025 already rich in many highlights, the 17th stage this Wednesday, September 10, offered many spectacular images in its final with a succession of landscapes blackened by the flames of recent fires in Spain.

In the ascent to the Alto du Morredero, a group of six runners came off to compete for the stage victory. After a long explanation, it was Pellizzari who tried his luck by escaping just over 3 km from the summit. No one was able to follow him and the Italian thus won his first stage on a large tour. Present in the head group, Jonas Vingegaard remained solid and retained his red jersey with 50 seconds ahead of Almeida.

The organization feared that the 17th stage of the Vuelta may not go to the end because of the strong wind expected in the last kilometers. Finally the peloton was able to rally the Alto du Morredero without incident despite large gusts at the top and it was Pellizzari who took advantage of it by winning at the top of this ascent.

The Italian takes the same time to consolidate his white jersey while the favorites of the general classification were neutralized. The 21 -year -old runner took over on competitors visibly not at the best of their form to win his first professional career success.
