The summer of 2025 will remain as one of the darkest in the recent history of AC Ajaccio. Sportingly, the Corsican club was demoted to Regional 2, a blow for an institution that has long shone football in Corsica. New governance in Ajaccio
Faced with the crisis, a decisive general meeting was held on Monday, according to Corsican-matin. Objective: to rebuild solid governance. Michaël Torre, former head of the club’s futsal section, was elected president of the AC Ajaccio association. By his side, a deeply renewed director, marked by the presence of local figures and recognized personalities of professional football.
This new advice has the heavy task of putting order in a fragile house and restoring credibility to a club which aspires to quickly find the peaks of amateur football, before dreaming of a return to the national level.
Rémy Cabella, a strong symbol for ACA
Among the new faces, the presence of Rémy Cabella necessarily attracts attention. The former ASSE playmaker, today in LOSC, is part of the master office. With him, two other Ajaccio native professionals complete the prestige trio: Vincent Marchetti (Paris FC) and Benjamin André (Lille).
Their role? Endose a function of guarantors of the sports and institutional project. For Cabella, this symbolic return to its native island is a way of bringing its experience and its network to the service of a club that is close to his heart. For the ACA, it is a strong signal sent to the supporters: despite the demotion, the story does not stop there.
