Danny Blind denies that his departure from the Supervisory Board (RVC) of Ajax is related to criticism of the purchasing policy during the last transfer period or with the fact that he would have liked to play his son Daley (35) a role within the club. That reports Het Parool.
According to the newspaper, Blind’s departure would indicate internal disagreement about the technical course at Ajax. Insiders state that the former player has been critical of the purchasing policy during the Transferwindow. In addition, the departing commissioner would have hoped for a position for Daley Blind within the club. Blind itself denies that.
Anyway, Ajax will have to look for a replacement in the Supervisory Board. The club has been struggling for years to structurally fill in the position of ‘football commissioner’. How difficult that search can be, it turned out already in 2021, when Blind also resigned to become an assistant with the Dutch national team.
According to Het Parool It is not inconceivable that Ajax is now focusing on Louis van Gaal, currently technical adviser within the body. However, whether Van Gaal is prepared to take on that role is still the question.
