With the start of Baoji China Masters 2025, tournament of the World Circuit BWF World Tour of category 100, also begins an Asian tour in the World Tour for a dozen Spanish volantists, who in the coming weeks will also compete in Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam, September 9-14) and in Riau (Indonesia, September 16-21).
Ten athletes from the Madrid High Performance Center group participate in this tour: Jacobo Fernández, Alberto Peals, Lucía Rodríguez, Paula López, Nikol Carulla, Carmen Jiménez, Rubén García, Carlos Piris, Daniel Franco and Rodrigo Sanjurjo, under the technical direction of Manuel Vázquez. The Spanish representation is specified in three male double couples, two women’s doubles and three mixed doubles, all of them with the aim of accumulating international experience in a demanding and high level calendar.
The first to debut will be Carmen Jiménez and Daniel Franco, who begin their journey in the mixed doubles from the previous one. Its premiere is scheduled for this Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. local time (10: 00h in Spain) before the winners of the duel between the Chinese couple Luo Yong Jie / Cao Yu Xuan and the players of Macao Tong Chon in / Wang Wai Kei.
Rubén García and Lucía Rodríguez will also compete in the main mixed double team, which start as first series heads and will also debut this Tuesday, but from 1:30 p.m. The Chinese Zhang Han Yu and Liu Jia Yue will be measured in seventeen. For their part, Rodrigo Sanjurjo and Nikol Carulla will debut in front of the Taiwanese Wu Guan Xun and Lee Chia Hsin at the time to be defined.
In male doubles, García and Carlos Piris leave from the final painting with a premiere against the Taiwanese Cheng Kai Wen and Liao Chao Pang, while Franco and Sanjurjo await rivals from the previous one. Fernández and Peals, meanwhile, will face the Chinese Chen Yong Rui and Chen Zhe Han.
In the women’s team, Spain has two couples among the main serial heads. Paula López and Lucía Rodríguez, third favorites, will debut directly in the second round before the winners of the duel between the Chinese Qian Zi Yi / Shao Jia Ni and her compatriots Qiao Shi Jun / Zheng Yu. Carmen Jiménez and Nikol Carulla, fourth heads of standard, will begin in the second round in front of the winners of the crash between the Chinese Huang Ke Xin / Tang Rui Zhi and the Taiwanesas Yu Hsuan Chen / Liu Chiao-Yun.
Five of these couples arrive in Baoji after shining in the world championship of Paris 2025 (López – Rodríguez and Carulla – Jiménez in female doubles, Piris – García and Franco – Sanjurjo in Male, and Rodríguez – García in the mixed) and now comes the time to fight to give continuity to the good feelings shown in the French capital and continue to grow and consolidate its international level.
