It looks like Buffalo Bills training camp is just getting started, but it’s already almost over. In less than a week, the teams must reduce to 53 players. By 4 p.m. on Saturday, we’ll find out who the Bills start their 2020 season opener against the Jets with. Lots of those players we already know.
Guys like quarterback Josh Allen and cornerback Tre’Davious White aren’t close to that territory, but with training camp coming to an end, there are still a lot of guys still squarely in the bubble. roster who need a big week of training before next weekend.
With that, here are nine players on the Bills still on the roster bubble before the last week of camp:
CB Dane Jackson
That’s never a lock for a seventh round rookie. You’re just a stone’s throw from being an undrafted rookie and so is cornerback Dane Jackson. Recently in the Bills training camp scrum, Jackson was running with the saves against the starting defense. However, even though he was with both, the Bills were slim on the cornerback. Josh Norman (hamstring) is out and UDFA rookie Ike Brown retired this week. Since then, the Bills have added Brian Allen via a free agency and there’s still Cam Lewis to consider. Jackson needs to hold off those two guys this week if he is to keep a deep point.
