Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has praised Ainsley Maitland-Niles as the Wolves are still linked to a move.
According to Sky Sports, Wolves have already turned down a £ 15m bid for the 22-year-old and are expected to make another offer closer to the Gunners’ £ 20m valuation.
Nonetheless, Arteta used the versatile midfielder when his team met MK Dons on Tuesday.
And speaking to Football.London, Arteta, who played Maitland-Niles in both the FA Cup semi-finals and the final this year, hinted that he hopes the player will stay.
“Yes, we read a lot of news about our players,” he said. “Which is not bad that other clubs want him, but with Ainsley he is a player that I have said since I joined and that I really like.
“The best way to show it is that I’ve played him in the most important games of the season and he responded really well. So here we are with the player.”

Matt Doherty’s Wolverhampton Wanderers exit appears to be getting closer. He has completed a £ 15m move to Tottenham, according to reports in the national press.
