No one has done better than them. Apart from Lance Armstrong, erased from the charts after having admitted to having doped, there are four runners to have won the Tour de France five times, including two French. Names that we will not forget will not forget: Jacques Anquetil and Bernard Hinault. The first won the Tour in 1957 and then four times in a row from 1961 to 1964. When Bernard Hinault won in 1978, 1979, 1981, 1982 and 1985.
Always considered the best cyclist in history, the Belgian Eddy Merckx also has five crowns, and also has the best victories/participation ratio since he only participated in seven times. We finally find the Spaniard Miguel Indurain who managed to win five Tour de France in A row (1991, 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995).
Behind these cadors, the British Christopher Froome is the only one to have won four times in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Having won the large loop three times is also rare. There are only four including French Louison Bobet (1953, 1954, and 1955) and the Tadej Pogacar phenomenon which won last year and in 2020 and 2021.
