OŠK Pribiš: Sixth League Exit Confirmed

Pribiš. Veličná, Krušetnica, Vasilov, Tapešovo, Beňadovo, Mútne, Kraľovany, Žaškov, Peasant Dubová, Bziny, Oravská Poruba, Habovka and Oravský Biely Potok.

These are all Orava villages in which competition football was played, but for various reasons it ended there.

They don’t end for money

To make matters worse, another Orava club disappeared from the football map. OŠK Pribiš did not apply for the sixth league or any other competition before 2025/26.

“We are probably the only football club that does not end for money, but because there is no one to do football in the village. I can no longer tear to all sides,” said Mayor and President of OŠK Pribiš Rastislav Suroviak for Sportnet.

The news is sad all the more because Pribiš got to the final of the Presidential Cup in 2023, in which he just succumbed to the fabrics 2: 3.

“The players would also be with us, but we need at least ten people to take care of the organization of the club’s meeting and the club.

Video technician, announcer, chief organizer, organizers, team leader, youth coaches are all the people you need to play football, ”he added.

Suroviak: Did I spoil them?

According to the mayor and head of the club, there has been a problem with the washing of jerseys recently. He couldn’t even get people into the buffet.

“It is a special time, no one wants anything. People will come to see football, but everyone has a lot of duties. Maybe it is also my fault that I did everything and the others then comforted. Maybe I spoiled them, I don’t know …”

Football in Pribiš renewed in 2009. A bunch of enthusiasts headed by Rawmark took care of it.

Volunteers have built dressing rooms, sanitary facilities and other things necessary to organize competition matches. Now, however, the club is waiting for another break. Perhaps just a break.

“During that time, everyone has got married, have children and other responsibilities. And so it was up to me. But I also have a family, three children, so I had to adapt,” he said.

They ended up in eleventh place

Pribiš ended up last season VI. League Group B in eleventh place from fourteen participants. He had 27 points for 8 wins and 3 draws.

“The results were not the worst, we played well. But as I said, there are no people around. I am very sorry, but I believe that there will be an enthusiasm who will restore football in our village again.

We are over now, but I don’t take it as a tragedy. In a year we can register again to the district, we will build a quality cadre and once we are in the sixth league. However, forces must be mobilized, ”he says.

Played in the Slovnaft Cup

Pribiš played mostly with his own offspring. The course of the ŠK is located in the lap of Orava nature.

In the last year of the Slovanft Cup, the village with 450 inhabitants of the former second league ŠK Odeva Lipany welcomed. It was a great football holiday.

“It is sad that it ends, but life goes on. The bread will not be cheaper.

Sometimes it is better to take a step back, as if it were to fall. I believe that we will relax and we will be doubled stronger, ”says Rastislav Suroviak, President of OŠK Pribiš.

Orava football has recently lost more than ten teams. The positive news is therefore that after more than 30 years he entered the OŠK Zábievo competition.
