The Community of Madrid has become the epicenter of university sport at European level, with the celebration of the University European Championship, which has taken place in the town of Boadilla del Monte and has been organized by the Camilo José Cela University from June 23 to 28.
About 200 athletes from more than 15 countries have demonstrated a high competitive level and an environment marked by the coexistence and values of university sport.
The University of Strasbourg (France) was crowned champion in the team competition, while its athletes also shone in individual and double evidence, on the contrary, the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom) highlighted especially in female and individual female doubles.
The team competition was held from June 23 to 25, in a format that combined group stage and direct qualifiers. As of June 25, in the afternoon, the individual phase began, where participants competed in the five classic modalities: male and female individual, male, female and mixed doubles. The individual competition would end on June 28.
The Madrid Federation of Bádminton has not wanted to miss this important event, developing a very important role in the management and coordination of the judges of lines necessary for the competition.
