Football Olomouc has a new owner, Sigma Sport of Engineering Magnate Milan Šimonovský. Sigma Sport Milan Šimonovský bought 2734 pieces of shares from SK Sigma Olomouc MŽ, ie 99 percent. The remaining one percent of the shares owns the city, within two months it should also transfer Sigma sport.

The total value of the transaction in the order of hundreds of millions remained secret. The association, which includes the renowned Olomouc youth only after the category of adolescents under 19 years, club academy, part of the training area in Řepčín and is also tenant of the city of Andr’s stadium, wants to invest in the development of youth and infrastructure, but also seven sections in addition to football.

“We are bound by confidentiality. I can say that the total volume of the transaction, the purchase price, the supply of partners, the construction of the youth center, is in the order of hundreds of millions,” said Jakub Beneš, chairman of the Sigma association. “As a purchase price, we are ready to go back to our club academy, improve conditions, infrastructure and other sections.”

Beneš faced frequent criticism of the fans that the club will not have the new owner anyway. One to the end, he called on a hundred thousand bet on the X Network to sell. “I’ll recover the money,” he joked.

But it is not surprising that faith and patience were running out of fans. Already in 2014, Sigma’s management announced that it needed to get a new investor to stabilize and strengthen economic condition. Sigma gradually sold the property – training area and stadium, which bought the city, and thus significantly relieved the club for the next years.

“Since 2014, it was clear to us that the club has not been financed as before, so the city of Olomouc has bought a stadium. Sometimes we have announced that we are looking for Sigma groom. We met a lot of enthusiastic amateurs, with a while.

Sigma’s Chairman Petr Konečný added: “We consider it a historical milestone. For the first time, Sigma gets into private hands. We believe the new owner will bring the club stability for a long time. Bring new energy, vision. we don’t owe. ”

The young lawyer Beneš called the sale of Sigma a life task he took after his accession. “As an association we were not a classic shareholder, but a good administrator. Certainly not a owner who would be able to develop professional football significantly and long -term. We now have such a partner, moreover, he is connected to the club for 60 years and now with a significant support for the strongest regional entrepreneurs. “I am convinced that we are passing Sigma to good and responsible hands. And under very favorable entrance conditions – Sigma is now the winner of the Czech Cup, a certain participant in the basic group of one of the European Cups and the club academy, which has long been rated as one of the TOP three in the Czech Republic.”

Why didn’t the sale of local entrepreneurs take place years ago?

“Czech football has made a significant progress in the last three years. For many strong investors, it is now part of the league owner’s group is more interesting than it was before,” says Beneš.

The offer generated an offer. Had it not been for the first interest of the American company Blue Crow Sports Group, which did not like parts of the Olomouc leadership, there would be no carp of Karl Pražák, and if it did not give any other parts of the leadership, it would not enter Sigma Sport. Beneš did not want entrepreneurs who support the club, but indirectly confirmed that there are Hubáček or Morávek among them. “The performance is on the new owner, but we see speculation in the media and a large part of them is based on truth,” he admitted.

Benes on the next question list of messages, how many millions the new owner guarantees the budget, did not answer specifically. “Tens of millions are the lowest guarantee, but I believe it will be much more.”

This will also be reflected in reinforcements. I feel good about it. I believe Sigma will be ambitious and competitive,” Beneš wishes.

He would like to build a modern training center with the new owner. “It’s in action. We’re in the early days. It should be one of the priority goals,” he nodded. “I wouldn’t want to shoot data. We have to see how we are able to develop the current infrastructure, and then look at another location. I am very glad that the debate with the new owner was also on the topic of the Club Academy.”

It would be a football bomb. Legendary goalkeeper Petr Čech, icon Chelsea, where after the end of his career he also worked in the management of the club, he should act as external advisor Pavel Hubáček with a strong voice in Olomouc. Sigma fans would welcome the departure of a peculiar sports manager, but it would be a populist decision. Ladislav Minář pays in the industry as a capable negotiator, for the operation of the club is very important. All the more so if the new owner does not have a better sleeve. The miner is expected.

The club’s structure is likely to change, the Minář will be confessed to the Executive Director and will be in charge of the sports side. “It is some negotiations inside. I can have my view, but the majority’s opinion must decide. There were a lot of moments when we did not have the same opinion when we argued, but I still believe that we are all in a state where we all know that we took the right step,” Beneš stressed. “The negotiations were not easy for us at all. We weren’t united, but I think it’s not wrong in such a strategic question. We were strict in negotiations, and now we have a lot of merit in being where we are. Now we all feel that we have taken the step.

Sigma seems to want to go to a new era with a clean table. Indeed, even major personnel changes have no time on dispute. The club has had a successful season, ended up in the championship group and, above all, with many offspring in the line -up won the MOL Cup. The season with some participation in the group of European Cups (European League or Conference League) is behind the door. Must work. For Olomouc football it is another breakthrough moment.

However, some official departures are likely to occur. “We are ready to hand over Sigma as a joint -stock company to the new owner in the coming days to seize the management. We are satisfied with it and I look forward to the Sigma to flourish in the future,” said Konečný, who has been working in the club for 30 years. “Sigma still has his fans, I believe that a new partner will bring new energy for them to start looking at the stadium as we all wish.”
