League 1 The king of Bahrain buys 20 percent
The fights between Qatar and Bahrain to prove that their financial muscle has moved to Paris since the king of Bahrain has bought 20 percent League 2 side Paris FC.
It comes after the purchase of the Qatar Sport Investment Paris Saint Germain in 2011.
For now, however, there does not appear to be any such investment Paris FC since Pierre Ferracci continues to be the main stakeholder with 77 percent of the shares.
However, raising capital has allowed the club to strengthen its position with an investment of five million euros which will allow a 30 percent increase in the short-term budget, according to L’Equipe.
Explore Bahrain will also become the club’s main sponsor.
After finishing in the seventeenth season last year and just to avoid relegation to the third level of French football, there is a challenge for those of the club.
“The sporting ambition of the first men’s team is to reach Ligue 1 in three years and we hope that the women’s team will also reach the maximum level,” said the club.
“It is an opportunity to bring the club into a new era.”
A return to the top flight would be the first time since 1974 when the team entered League 1.
