A Triumphant Weekend for Archers de la Trémoïlle
The Saint-Varent indoor archery competition, hosted by Archers de la trémoïlle on November 9th and 10th, 2024, was a resounding success. A total of 134 archers, representing 168 entries, participated in the event. Competitors hailed from all seven clubs in the Deux-Sèvres department, as well as neighboring clubs in Vienne, Vendée, and Maine-et-Loire.
The local club, Archers de la Trémoïlle, boasted the largest contingent wiht 30 participants. Twelve of their archers secured podium finishes, further solidifying their impressive performance streak from previous weekends in Lencloître and Coulonges-sur-l’Autize.
Léa Brin (U13), Léonie Sollier (U15), Alexandre Ringot (U15), Mélissa Jouffrey (senior women’s 1, classical bow), and Hervé ricou (barebow) all emerged victorious in their respective categories. Florian Onillon (U13), Axelle Guinut (U21), both shooting classical bow, pierric Boinot (senior men’s 1, compound bow), and Catherine rabin (senior women’s 3, compound bow) claimed second place. Thomas Banchereau (senior men’s 1, compound bow), the club’s salaried coach, Patrick Boinot (senior men’s 3, compound bow), the newly elected president, and Brigitte Vezon (senior women, barebow) rounded out the impressive performance by securing third place in their categories.
A rising Star: Alexandre Ringot’s National Success
Building on their momentum, the Archers de la Trémoïlle continued their winning streak at the Loudun competition on November 16th and 17th, with 12 more podium finishes. Nicolas Deboeuf,Isabelle Martin,Léa Brin,and Alexandre Ringot all achieved victory.Alexandre Ringot’s performance was notably noteworthy. His score of 580 out of a possible 600 points in Loudun earned him the second-highest score in France for the U15 category in indoor archery this season, shooting classical bow. This remarkable achievement currently places him fourth in the national rankings for his age group.

You’ve had a decorated career. what are your thoughts on the recent performance of Archers de la Trémoïlle, considering they’ve secured an impressive 24 podium finishes in just two weekends?
JP: Absolutely remarkable! This kind of consistency speaks volumes about the dedication of the archers and their coaching staff. To see 12 archers from a single club securing podium finishes at Saint-Varent alone is truly impressive.
It seems Alexandre Ringot is a name everyone is talking about. A 580 out of 600 at Loudun – that’s phenomenal! What dose it take for such a young archer to reach that level of precision and mental fortitude?
JP: Alexandre’s score is indeed exceptional, putting him in the top ranks nationally. It takes a unique blend of talent, rigorous training, and unflinching focus. Young archers frequently enough possess natural talent, but it’s the discipline and mental resilience honed through years of dedicated practice that truly set them apart.
Do you think this level of success could be tied to the club’s performance streak? Does having a winning culture within the club contribute to individual achievements?
JP: Absolutely. Creating a winning environment is crucial. When you have a team constantly pushing each other, celebrating successes, and learning from setbacks, it fosters a spirit of excellence. Everyone elevates their game. Seeing their teammates succeed inspires and motivates them further.
Many archers strive to reach the national level. what advice would you give to young archers like Alexandre who are aiming for the top?
JP: Believe in yourself,Alexandre. Trust the process,work hard,and never stop learning.
