“An important development for the Broncos, they told Jack Bird, they are vulnerable to injury and he can leave immediately,” he said.
Fifita is currently weighing a mega-offer of the titans of $ 1.25 million per season, compared to what the Broncos can offer, about $ 700,000 a year.
Bird, who is under contract to the Broncos with a 2021 player option by the end of this year, is earning just under $ 1 million a year.
The Broncos are reportedly open to paying nearly $ 400,000 for a transfer contract, freeing up more than $ 500,000 in ceilings that could improve Fifita’s offering.
“They want to free up money in the cap and are willing to subsidize a transfer for Jack Bird to the Bulldogs, Dragons, or Sharks. This will free up about $ 500,000 in the cap to try and keep David Fifita,” said Badel.
“So it’s another piece of the Broncos, they’re trying to unlock money, they think they can keep Fifita.”
