You have the news, we have a little bit!
Reigning national champion, Duinwijck, failed to qualify for the final play-off, which means that a new team will be crowned champion of the Netherlands this season.
Mutual competitions
If we go back to the previous matches of this season, the final promises to be very exciting. DKC defeated Almere 5-3 in The Hague. The match in Almere ended in a 4-4 draw, but both teams did not field their strongest line-up, partly due to injuries. Based on the mutual matches this season, it could be concluded that DKC is the slight favorite.
Final experience
If we look at the final experience, the difference between DKC and Almere is minimal. DKC has reached the final six times, compared to five Dutch Badminton Eredivisie finals for Almere. Both DKC and Almere managed to win the Dutch Badminton Eredivisie title only once. Both teams will therefore be keen to win the title this year. Finally, it is the first time that both teams will meet each other in the final.
