After weeks of negotiations, the team coached by Mauricio Pochettino managed to convince Brighton to sell Moises Caicedo (21), after having already done so for goalkeeper Robert Sanchez (25). The Ecuadorian signed for Chelsea for €116m which took the British club’s total summer transfer window rating to €323m. But it is not finished !
While the track leading to Romélo Lavia (Southampton) seemed to be extinguished, with the sumptuous recruitment of Moises Caicedo, it would not be the case in the end.
Transferred Lavia “next week” ?
Indeed, according to the revelations on X – formerly Twitter – by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are close to completing the arrival of the 19-year-old Belgian, ahead of Liverpool, already beaten over the ex-Brighton midfielder. According to the journalist, “the structure of the agreement” is currently under discussion. This concerns the activation of the bonuses of the operation, among other things, in addition to the fact that the Saints claim a higher fixed amount.

The international – 1 selection – of the Red Devils, under contract with Southampton (English D2) until 2027, could be transferred for a sum greater than 50 million euros.
Expected degreasing
A significant amount, which will further increase Chelsea’s expenses. The English club will therefore then have to part with several elements, such as Romelu Lukaku, tracked by Tottenham to replace Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Trevoh Chalobah, followed by Inter, or Marc Cucurella, whom Arsenal is targeting for a loan. and Newcastle United for a transfer.
