BASKETBALL: Women’s basketball in all its glory

On Monday 29 May, the Somme Basket Ball Committee’s Open Plus Access was organized by the Mabb as part of the “basketball in the neighborhood” project carried out with Amiens Métropole and its traditional tournament reserved for women.

Players from all over the region participated in the event. In total, these are 25 teams who measured themselves in a series of matches from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the U13 category, the championship was won by the Mabb. In the Junior League, Coeur de Flandres triumphed.

The day ended with a special victory for the Mabb team. Reinforced by Lucile Jerome, a renowned female Ligue 2 player, the team managed to win their pass for the national tournament to be held in Dunkirk. The highly anticipated event will take place June 16-18. The opportunity for the Mabb to demonstrate its skills nationally.

This Monday’s Open Plus Access was a women’s basketball celebration in all its splendor in the Etouvie district. It highlighted the enormous potential and excitement that women’s sport can bring, while providing a platform for players to showcase their talent and passion for the game. It is clear that women’s basketball in the city of ‘Amiens has a promising futureand that events like this only reinforce that prospect.
