At his press conference in Paris on Monday, Dominic Thiem wasn’t quite sure how he would spend the time after his defeat against Pedro Cachin until he played on the grass in HalleWestfalen. But just a few hours after the loss to the Argentine, it was already clear that Thiem would stay on the sand for one or two challenges.
This plan has now been confirmed by its management. Thiem will open in Heilbronn from June 5th and in Perugia the following week. After that it’s on grass in Halle, and Dominic Thiem will also compete in Wimbledon.
Kitzbühel as the highlight for Thiem
And the first half of the summer is already planned with the tournaments in Gstaad, Umag and, as a highlight for the Austrian fans, Kitzbühel (starting on July 31).
Most recently, Thiem was in Mauthausen at a tournament in the ATP Challenger series. There came the end in the semifinals against the later tournament winner Hamad Medjedovic. Incidentally, he was also eliminated in Roland Garos against Marcos Giron in the first round.
