Unión beat Estudiantes at the 15 de Abril stadium

Unión celebrated against Estudiantes in Santa Fe for the goals from Piris and Machuca. Munúa’s team was able to add their first victory of the championship, before their people and under the arbitration of Pablo Echavarría.

The first half had the cast from La Plata with more goal options, the clearest ones in the feet of Zuqui and Más, who could not break the zero with which the teams went to the locker room in Santa Fe but at least they gave him some thrills at the initial stage. For its part, the local, more concerned at the start than in the gestation, barely touched the rival area and the only chance found a very well planted Daniel Sappa, Andújar’s replacement in the Pincha goal.

In the second half, Unión scored the first start, at 8 minutes. It was from a corner kick that Sappa found a great cover against Luciano Aued’s header and whose rebound was pushed by Oscar Piris almost over the line to unleash madness in the stadium.

The expansion of the scoreboard came after 24 minutes, after a great individual action by Imanol Machuca on the left in a counterattack that found the Pincha defense badly stopped. The midfielder went from right to left and unwrapped a low left foot shot at the near post that slipped into the post to make it 2-0.

It was the first win for the Santa Fe team that reached six units and will visit Rosario Central next time. For their part, Estudiantes have just five points and are located near the bottom of the table, so Abel Balbo’s continuity hangs by a thread with 15 days left for the La Plata classic. (Infobae)
